Functional Connect Billing

How Billing Works

There are 3 access tiers for the Functional Connect WebSocket platform.

• Always Free tier allows 1 concurrent connection and is, as the name suggests, free.
• Paid tiers have a base subscription fee (e.g. $20/mo) and a per-connection fee (e.g. $0.01/conn).

At the end of the month, you will be billed for the number of new connections you have initiated. This does NOT include failed connections. If a user is offline, or a connection fails, you are not billed.

Our Costs

It costs to run this service. We charge a small fee for access to the API.

The costs, to name a few, include:

• Maintenance and reverse-engineering
• 7 high-availability backend servers
• High-quality rotating proxies
• 2 front-end APIs
• 5 back-end services
• 2 databases
• 1 load balancer
• 1 dashboard
• 2 high-availability Redis instances
• E-Mail Support
• Security
• Monitoring
• Development of the service
• Development of the dashboard

If you don't think you can swing the cost, feel free to use one of the many 3rd-party community packages! They're great in a pinch, but you'll be responsible for any updates or issues.
